Material analysis of rotary excavator drill bits
Author:
1、 High strength alloy steel
The rotary excavator drill bits mainly use high-strength alloy steel materials, which have the characteristics of high strength, high toughness, and high hardness. These materials can effectively increase the service life and wear resistance of the drill bits, facilitate continuous operation during the construction process, reduce equipment maintenance rates and replacement times, and reduce construction costs.
2、 Hard alloy
Hard alloy is a high-tech material composed of tungsten carbide and metal tungsten powder, which is harder than high-strength alloy steel and has stronger wear resistance. Therefore, it is the second commonly used material for rotary excavator drill bits. Hard alloy is usually used for drilling pressure and drill bit friction, while high-strength alloy steel is used to increase its overall toughness and strength.
3、 Other auxiliary materials
In addition to high-strength alloy steel and hard alloy, rotary excavator drill bits also use other auxiliary materials, such as stainless steel or other wear-resistant materials. These materials can effectively increase the corrosion resistance and durability of the rotary excavator drill bit, reduce the probability of damage to the drill bit due to environmental factors, and thus improve the service life and efficiency of the rotary excavator.
Overall, the material selection of rotary excavator drill bits mainly considers factors such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, strength, and toughness. High strength alloy steel and hard alloy both have excellent properties, but for different construction environments and needs, choosing different materials of rotary excavator drill bits is also a common practice.
