What are the types of rotary excavator drill bits

Author:

Rotary excavator is a type of mechanical equipment used for deep excavation during construction. It mainly uses the rotation of the machine body to carry out deep excavation work. The drill bit is the core component of the rotary excavator and the key to its construction. According to the shape and structure of the rotary excavator drill bit, it can be divided into various types.

1. Single blade drill bit

Single blade drill bit is a common type of drill bit, suitable for construction in silt layers such as soil, sand, and sub saturated clay layers, as well as soft and medium hard rock layers. The characteristics of a single blade drill bit are: a small number of blades, strong rock drilling performance, rotation direction consistent with the machine body, and minimal load changes in the drill bit torque during operation. The diameter of the drill rod for a single blade drill bit is usually over 2.5 meters.

2. Double blade drill bit

The dual blade drill bit has two symmetrically arranged blades, which have stronger rock drilling ability and are suitable for sites with poor lithology or thick rock layers. The dual blade drill bit operates smoothly during rotation, with less shaking or fluctuation, and the drilling speed is relatively faster. The purpose is larger than that of a single blade drill bit, and the diameter of the drill rod is usually over 2.5 meters.

3. Three blade drill bit

Compared to double blade drill bits, three blade drill bits have stronger rock drilling capabilities and are suitable for soft, medium hard rock formations, hard rock formations, irregular hard rock formations, and other sites. The three blades of the drill bit are arranged in a triangular pattern, allowing the rock drilling angle to be extended to 360 degrees, which can solve various rock drilling problems, but the drilling speed is relatively slow.

4. Drill bit diffuser

Drill bit diffuser, as the name suggests, can expand the diameter of the borehole, producing a greater crushing effect during construction and improving crushing efficiency. The use of drill bit diffusers is a very effective solution that increases rock drilling efficiency by about 30%.
